Bee Health Day

Open to members and non-members.

Regional and Seasonal Bee Inspectors from the National Bee Unit (NBU) of Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) will come to Reading to share their knowledge on bee health.

There will be talks, demonstrations including:
  • Adult Bee Diseases;
  • Brood Diseases;
  • Diseased Comb;
  • Asian Hornet update;
  • Pests, and
  • Apiary Hygiene.
Parking is limited: arrange to share transport if possible. The number 17 bus runs every 7
minutes from Reading Town Centre and the Church Hall is a 3-minute walk from The Three Tuns stop. There is a good value bus ticket available on a Saturday: 4 adults can travel together on one Group Travel ticket all day. This tickets costs £6. There is also a number 4 or X4 bus which departs from the Vernalis stop on Wokingham Road near the Winnersh Park and Ride, and also calls at the The Three Tuns: but buses are less frequent: please check timetables on the Winnersh Park and Ride site.

This is a free event sponsored by Bee Disease Insurance Ltd (BDI). There will be tea and coffee provided for a small charge, but no other food, please remember to bring your own lunch.
